Pricing & warranty
What FairFix charges, and what's backed by a warranty.
The same facts we put on your invoice, in plain language, before you book.
Service call fee
$99 covers the visit: inspecting the appliance and diagnosing the problem. Go ahead with the repair and the $99 service call fee is waived - you pay just the repair price, even if you decide to skip additional work found later. If you decide not to repair, the $99 covers the visit and diagnosis. If the repair is cancelled after you approve it, the $99 fee for the visit still applies.
Written quote, always
FairFix provides a written quote before any repair work begins -- no work starts without your approval. If a new problem is found after the appliance is opened, work stops and you get a new estimate before we continue. You may decline that additional work; any labor already performed still applies. If your approved repair is carried out, the service call fee stays waived even when you decline the additional work.
Warranty
90 days on parts and labor for completed repairs, in writing on your invoice. If the same issue returns within 90 days, we return at no charge.
Any exclusion that applies to your job is explained and agreed to before work starts, and noted on the final invoice. Exclusions:
- Gas refill or leak-prone repairs
- Some door-switch replacements
- Misuse or accidental damage
- Tampering or repair attempts by someone other than FairFix
- Unrelated issues discovered later
- Power surges
- Consumable parts such as filters and fuses
Special-order parts
If parts must be ordered, you pay a deposit of half the repair price before the part is ordered; once it is paid, the part is ordered. Completion time depends on part delivery. The cancellation rules are below and in full in our Terms.
Cancellation & no-shows
If parts must be ordered, the deposit is half the repair price and is paid before the part is ordered. If you cancel before the part is ordered, the charge is the $99 service call fee, nothing more; the remainder is refunded. If you cancel more than 24 hours after approving the repair and paying the deposit, FairFix keeps $158 (the $99 service call fee plus a $59 cancellation fee) plus the cost of any non-returnable parts already ordered, and refunds the remainder. For example, on a $200 deposit with no parts yet ordered, $42 is refunded ($200 minus $158). After parts are installed, the repair cannot be cancelled and the deposit is not refunded.
Payment
Payment is due on completion of the work. FairFix accepts Cash, Zelle, Venmo, Cash App, Check, Card.
